Its fall already, and in the Pacific Northwest that means the winter claims season is around the corner. At Halo, we pride ourselves on having expertly trained crews ready to respond to any type of emergency service our customers may need. On Friday, September 11th, 2009, we held the first training session of the season for our field crews on the topic of chainsaws, tree removals, and tree impacts. It was a refresher course for some and new hands on training for others.
The Tree Strike and Chainsaw class was lead by Halo's own Jeremy McMillan. Jeremy put a lot of effort in to developing the class based on his experiences while working several years in the field. During the class, Jeremy walked our crews through the process of responding to an emergency tree impact and then trained them on safety protocols and safety equipment, the roles of each crew member and the maintenance of the chainsaws. From there each and every crew member was given the opportunity to use the chainsaw and cut rounds from a fallen tree. They were all graded on their knowledge and ability to utilize the chainsaw and safety equipment confidently. We are proud to announce each crew member exceeded our grading criteria and the Halo crew is ready to respond to tree strike emergencies this winter.

The chainsaw class that Jeremy held was very important to Halo and it's customers who have depended on us for cutting and removing trees from homes impacted during the storm season.
Thank you Jeremy for maintaining Halo's leadership in the industry!
